A look at the new Core i7 2600k.

If you are in the market for a new processor there are not many on the market that can compete with the raw processing power of the Core i7 2600K.  Armed with a Quad Core processor and a beefy 8MB L3 Cache It's the fastest CPU on the planet , even faster than the mighty core i7 980x as well as 990x (when slightly overclocked) which honestly is what most people buy this beast of a processor for.

As far as price range goes the core i7 2600k can be had at most reputable retailers for ~$350.00 American which is a bargain in my book for the power your dollar buys. Hell, that's less than $100 a core, I honestly don't know how Intel can afford to sell such a monster of a chipset for such a reasonable price.

The only issue I can speak of when referring to the Core i7 2600k is heat.  This monster produces some heat and lots of it.  I would strongly recommend ditching the included cooling fan and thermal paste and replacing it with a aftermarket cooler and some Arctic Silver.

So in conclusion if you need a new processor and have an extra $350.00 burning a hole in your pocket then do yourself a favor and pick up the Core i7 2600k, you won't regret it.

PSN dead, sony is helpless, or a few tips to pass the time if you own a ps3

Are you a disgruntled PlayStation Network gamer? At least you're not alone -- there are more than 100 million PSN users who've had their data nicked by shadowy digital thieves. Sony's (probably) working hard to get the service back online before everyone throws their PS3s in a canal, but with the only date we have to go on still nearly three weeks away, we thought we'd rattle through a few suggestions of what to do in the meantime.

1. Go outside

Just kidding. We hate the outdoors as much as you. Seriously, it's full of bugs and pollen. Besides, everyone knows you can get a decent tan simply by turning your monitor up really bright.

Nintendo sees the world in 3-D

At a game conference keynote, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata talks about the importance of innovation.San Francisco (CNN) -- Sunday's debut of the Nintendo 3DS, a hand-held game system with a 3-D display that doesn't require special glasses, isn't just the culmination of several years of research and development for one product.
It could be a milestone for a company that's spent decades refining three-dimensional technology, only to be met with resistance from consumers.
Playing games in 3-D "is something that we've been continually testing and working on at Nintendo," said Hideki Konno, who has directed or produced some of Nintendo's most prized franchises and was a key person in the 3DS's development, through an interpreter.
"We've never actually stopped looking at 3-D as a viable product," Konno said. "And it just so happens that the technology in the marketplace now coincides with what we wanted to do. So actually, it was just very fortuitous timing."

Caribou Android App Cracks Cardkey Locks

Caribou Android App
(androidjet)Caribou Android App is written by security researcher Ian Robertson as a proof-of-concept demonstration of the incredibly poor security controls in use on widely popular cardkey door control systems.
Wiith Caribou Android App, you just need to input the IP address of the cardkey device, and then click Unlock. All doors will be unlocked for 30 seconds, after that they will re-lock just like using a cardkey to enter.
Of course, for security issue, Caribou app is NOT available to download, don’t wait your time searching on Android Market.
Here is the demo video with a HTC Incredible and Caribou Android App.

PSN hack lets users unban themselves, ban others

This game of one-upmanship between Sony and the PS3 modders is getting seriously heated. Responding to the news that Sony was permabanning modded consoles, a new hack claims to worm into the PSN and allow people to unban themselves.
The hack can also be used to ban another console, although they'd need access to that console's ID, which would have to be obtained from a refurb warehouse/secondhand seller or willingly given up by an idiot.
The mod scene is justifying its actions by calling Sony bullies and criticizing its strong-arm tactics. Sony, of course, is sticking by its EULA and claiming to protect its interests.
Whichever side you find righteous, there is no denying that this war is going to get even more bitter -- and likely more idiotic -- before it's all said and done.
